May 13 and the Everest team is ready to go for the top of the world. Our group of climbers have done all the hard pre-acclimatization work to get ready for the final go for the summit. And, more importantly, our incredible staff of climbing Sherpas and guides have been hard at work high on the mountain. They recently completed our teams final carry of tents and oxygen to the high camp at the South Col, that’s at 8,000 meters elevation and the final carry involved some serious wind to content with to get that load in at the final hour before a series of predicted days of strong winds up high would have pushed things back. A huge thanks to the hard working folks who made that happen for our climbers!
Everyone is now raring to go for the series of nights up through the higher camps on the way to the summit. The first wave of our team will leave tomorrow evening, we pushed back one day due to many factors, but namely the potential crowded route on the first two good summit days coming up. Then the following day the rest of our climbers and guides will depart for Camp Two. A rest day will follow, and then of course Camp three and Camp four in preparation for the summit morning!
