We returned to Pakistan this summer to operate our 2nd consecutive K2 Base Camp Trek and it was a phenomenal time!
This is such a classic expedition trek that is overlooked by its lesser known region of the Karakoram Himalayas, compared to the much more heavily trafficked mountains of Nepal. Flying in to the modern and amazingly clean capitol of Pakistan, Islamabad, the journey took the team on a domestic flight to the gateway of the mountains in Skardu.
From there, the rugged but beautiful adventure takes four wheel drive vehicles and by foot, many kilometers in this quite striking mountain range of the Karakoram. The team trekked for 7 days to reach the base of the Second highest mountain in the world, the famous K2!
Our team met with climbers from all over the world who were in the Karakoram for the Summer climbing season. As well, the many growing numbers of trekkers discovering this area for adventure. It is a trek that is more remote and rugged than a comparative trek to the Everest Base Camp. But, the payoffs are immense. Each night is spent in tents camping along the way. But our crew of porters, cooks and guides, take care of all the logistics, food and preparation of the overnights.
We look forward to the 2025 Summer season in Pakistan. We will be heading out again on two separate dates for the K2 Base Camp trek in July of 2025!
