Sunday morning December 12.
The Vinson team remains at low camp on Sunday as there is an ominous weather forecast in the coming days up high. A few groups had climbed to high camp yesterday but retreated due to extreme cold temperatures and everyone has decided to wait a bit of time for a front to move through.
On Saturday part of the team went back down to basecamp to cache the dome and base camp setup in case the strong winds were to hit that elevation. The rest of the team stayed in low camp and continued to construct snow walls for the tents.
Let’s see what the coming days hold for the mountain and for now the group is hunkered down.
