ITINERARY
Final Prep & Relaxation Day
A free day for last-minute preparations, gear adjustments, or simply resting before heading to the ice.
Fly to Union Glacier, Antarctica
Weather permitting, we fly 4 hours south to Union Glacier, landing on a stunning blue-ice runway. After setting up camp, we settle into our first night on the continent.
Acclimatization & Ski Prep
A full day on the ice to test our systems, ski around camp, and adapt to the Antarctic environment before the expedition begins in earnest.
Flight into 89° South & Begin Skiing
We fly by Twin Otter aircraft to 89°S, 60 nautical miles from the South Pole. After landing, we begin our journey with a short ski to establish camp.
Ski to the South Pole
Over the course of roughly 6 - 7 days, we ski across the polar plateau toward the geographic South Pole. Expect stunning silence, vast horizons, and a deep sense of accomplishment as we near our goal.
Return to Union Glacier
We board our aircraft and fly back to Union Glacier Camp to celebrate our achievement with a hot meal and well-earned rest and showers.
Return to Puntas Arenas
Once the weather window opens, we fly back to Punta Arenas. After a hot shower, we gather for a celebratory dinner to toast the journey.
End of Expedition - Depart for Home
With unforgettable memories in tow, guests depart for home or onward travel.
ITINERARY
Day 01
Arrival in Minerlyne Vody, Russia & Transfer to Terskol
Arrive at Mineralnye Vody airport and meet your team for a welcome briefing. Afterward, transfer to the comfortable Terskol Hotel, your base for the upcoming days of preparation.
Day 02
Acclimatization Hike via Cheget Chairlifts
Begin your acclimatization with a scenic hike. Ascend to 11,800 ft (3,600 meters) for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Afterward, return to the hotel for a restful night.
Day 03
Elbrus Acclimatization at Low Hut
Catch the cable car towards the Low Hut, where you’ll spend the day exploring and acclimatizing on the slopes of Elbrus. This will prepare you for the higher altitudes ahead. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04
Move to High Hut & Basecamp Setup
Take the cable car up to the High Hut, our strategic base at 14,000 ft (4,200 meters). Spend the day settling in, and begin to prepare for the climb ahead. This hut will serve as your camp for acclimatization and preparation.
Day 05
Ascend to Pastukhov Rocks (4,500m)
A key acclimatization day—today’s goal is the Pastukhov Rocks, located at over 15,000 ft (4,500 meters). The rocky landscape offers a real taste of the high-altitude environment you’ll be navigating. Return to base for the evening.
Day 06
Summit Day—West Summit of Elbrus
The big day is here. Early morning, you’ll set out for the West Summit of Mount Elbrus, standing tall at 18,510 ft (5,642 meters). With expert guides and unwavering determination, you’ll make your push to the top, where panoramic views await.
Day 07
Extra Summit Day—A Second Attempt
If conditions or energy levels require, today provides an additional opportunity to summit. The focus is to give every climber the best chance to reach the top of Elbrus, with ample support and guidance.
Day 08
Extra Summit Day
Another chance to summit, should the weather or other factors require it. Flexibility and safety are key as we ensure each climber has the opportunity to reach the summit with confidence.
Day 09
Descent to the Valley & Overnight in Hotel Povorot
Descend back to the valley, with a well-deserved night at Hotel Povorot. Reflect on your journey, relax, and enjoy the comfort of a great meal and a good night's rest.
Day 10
Departure—Transport to Mineralnye Vody & Return Flight
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Mineralnye Vody for your return flight home, carrying memories of an extraordinary expedition.

Summit Morning Snowcat Ride
On the summit morning, we provide the ride in a Snowcat machine up to Pastukhov Rocks, saving sever hours on the ascent.
Communication, Safety and First Aid
Our guides carry VHF radios, a satellite phone, and a comprehensive first aid kit equipped with high-altitude medications and emergency oxygen. Personal expenses
Personal expenses include any small purchases in Russia, such as extra food, supplies, or taxis, as well as any items you may wish to buy while on the trip.
Personal clothing & gear
Team members are responsible for arriving with the required personal clothing and equipment for the expedition. Upon signing up, we provide a detailed gear list and are always available to offer advice or answer any questions about what to bring, ensuring you're fully prepared for the journey.
Personal travel insurance
We strongly recommend team members on the Elbrus expedition to have rescue/evacuation insurance. Upon signing up, we provide a list of recommended insurance providers that specialize in covering climbing trips, ensuring you're fully protected for the journey.
Personal Russia Visa Costs
Cost of Tourist Visa prior to arrival to Minverlyne Vody Airport.
Alcoholic drinks and personal snacks
Outside of the team meals provided while in towns, you are responsible for drinks or any personal snacks for the climb.
International flights to/from Minerlyne Vody
The cost of your international flights to and from (MRV) Airport, is not included in the expedition price. This means you are responsible for researching, booking, and covering the expenses of your flights from your home country (or starting location) to Russia and your return journey after the expedition concludes.
