May 13th and the Everest team is ready to go for the top of the world. Our group of climbers have done all the hard pre-acclimatization work to get ready for the final go for the summit. Our Second trip to Elbrus in the summer of 2026 is starting off with a great hike in the surrounding hills of Terskol for acclimatization. One of the team members is Lonnie Bedwell, who has climbed with us on Everest, Vinson, Denali, and now Elbrus is a blind adventurer who looks to finish the seven summits in October. The Everest Climbing Team is at base camp enjoying the transition time between the first and final acclimatization rotations to prepare for the mountain. Around a week ago the team summited 6,119 meter Lobuche East, as the first rotation to prepare. Now the team is on a rest break that doubles as a training time to prepare for the longer foray up on Everest itself, in which the climbers will sleep in Camp One, several days in Camp Two, and go as high as reaching Camp Three at

The team is relaxing at basecamp and doing well so far. It has been a successful trip thus far with a nice trek into our comfortable basecamp at 17,500 feet at the bottom of the Khumbu Icefall. On April 20th our group climbed Lobuche East, a neighbor Peak to Everest at 6,100 meters in altitude. This climb serves as the first rotation of acclimatization for the actual Everest and Lhotse climb. Today on the 23rd we plan to do a little training around the ice in order to dial in

April 4th in Kathmandu, Nepal. The climbers on Everest and Lhotse for the 2023 Spring climbing season are arriving today along with the first wave of Everest Base Camp Trekkers. It is going to be an exciting season with several projects going on. We have a team of 5 climbers on a mixture of Everest and Lhotse or the combo of the two mountains. Our first Aconcagua team is on the mountain led by Tomas Ceppi! The team arrived in Las Cuevas yesterday and went on a short acclimatization hike. The team is feeling good and will be trekking to Christi Rendentor tomorrow. We are excited for the season despite having to navigate park COVID regulations to ensure climbers remain healthy. We returned to Pakistan this Summer to operate our 2nd consectutive K2 base camp trek and it was a phenomenal time!
