ANTARCTICA 2025 SEASON WRAP UP!

It was a busy and successful season in Antarctica for the Mountain Professionals teams. This year we launched out on four separate Mt. Vinson trips, one Last Degree South Pole Ski expedition, and an Antarctica Odyssey program. The 2025 season proved to be our second most clients in a year since we have been operating expeditions to the great White Continent!

On the first Vinson Expedition - guides Ryan Waters and Juan Escobar led a team of 8 climbers on the early season climb. The timing ran super smooth and the group had remarkable weather for their summit day. Contrary to some beliefs that the first departure of the year can have worse weather, we have historically found it to be quite stable and less crowded than the later season departures. It may be 3-5 degrees in variation colder but even this has changed and similar to a mountain such as Denali, you can get great or poor weather on any of the seasonal trips.

Following that trip, we operated a South Pole Last Degree Ski expedition with guide Ryan Waters (IPGA) polar guide. Juan Escobar went on to lead the 5 person team on the V2 Vinson climb. Both were successful and had solid weather on the adventures.

The season continued with 9 more clients split between the Vinson V3 and Vinson V4 departures which were led by Juan Escobar and the teams made great time and had successful summit attempts on the mountain. That season makes 6 summits of Vinson for Juan P and 16 summits of Vinson for Ryan Waters.

We were so happy to work with the groups in Antarctica this season and look forward to next year's slate of trips including Mt. Vinson climbs Mt. Sidley climb, and South Pole Last Degree trips! Plus we are putting together an expedition for a full trip to the South Pole via the Hercules Inlet start! Should be another busy year!
