This region has been home to many different ethnic groups including the Mangar and Gurung people to the Thakali and Manangis groups living Tibetan like lifestyles in the high country.

One of the classic treks in Nepal is the Everest Basecamp trek. Travel from Lukla through world famous Sherpa villages such as Namche Bazaar. Stop and reflect in the Thengboche monastery before reaching the flanks of Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lhotse and Mount Everest!
